More doctors visits!

This week has, once again, brought many trips to doctors' offices! Is it bad when they know us so well they don't even ask our names anymore when we come in?

Thursday we saw the orthotist for another adjustment to the helmet. All in all, Chase has made amazing progress and he will contine to wear the helmet through a few more adjustments. Hopefully he will have it off permanently by late spring!

On Friday, we went to physical therapy. Ms. Amy referred us to the Torticollis Clinic as there is nothing more she can really do for Chase. His head rotation is much improved (when we started, he could not turn his head past center and now he is nearly to his shoulder!), however his tilt is not improved at all. Our first visit, Amy measured a 5 degree tilt and Chase is still measuring the same 5 degrees now. Although it is slight, it is still something we need to have evaluated further as this tilt could lead to scoliosis down the line. Obviously, we are open to any suggested treatment, however my concerns about Botox have only been further raised after hearing the new FDA warnings regarding babies and Botox. Read about it here. I'll make the appointment and just see what the doctor has to say about my little guy!

And, finally, today we took the boys into Urgent Care. Chase woke up with a yucky, oozing eye and just generally not feeling well. Since we were already headed to the doctor's office, we figured Cole might as well tag along and get his ears checked while we were there. Turns out that Chase has an ear infection. But, the good news is that Cole may finally be on the mend. His ears are still full of fluid (which may take up to 3 months to drain!!!), but they are no longer infected.

C'mon spring! I'm looking forward to all of us kicking this virus to the curb once and for all, Chase's helmet coming off for good, and warm weather! Darn that groundhog for jinxing us with 6 more weeks of winter....

Hooray for Chase's helmet coming off soon! I am happy to hear he is making such great progress in that area. I hope everything else quickly follows suit. :) Sending "feel better" thoughts to your kiddos!
