Just how old does he think I am??

Tonight, Chase and I were in the car together, on our way to pick up Cole from bible school.  (Yes, Chase should have been there himself....but, after an hour of fit-throwing beforehand, I opted to let him skip it tonight.  Actually, it was more like I gave him the choice of going to bible school OR going to bed.  Yep, he chose bed.  However, the reality in that was he never really went to bed since Daddy ended up working late, which meant I had to go back to the church to pick up Cole at 8:30.  I couldn't drag a sleeping Chase out of bed for that, so I let him stay up.  Grrrrr.  I hate it when logistics foil my plan for making him learn a lesson!!!  And, so much for my quiet kid-free evening.)  Boy, that was a little off-topic, wasn't it?

Anyway, back to being in the car with Chase on the way to bible school....  I was trying to explain that going to bible school was important and that almost every kid goes to bible school because it is important to learn about God and Jesus and the Bible and so on...
Mom:  Bible school is important, Chase.  Most all kids go to bible school, even Mommy and Daddy went when we were kids.
Chase:  You did????  I didn't know that.
Mom:  Yep, we both went.  And, besides that, its only for 1 short week of out of the year.  Its fun and important that you go.
Chase:  Mom, when you went to bible school....is that when everything was in black and white?
Mom:  What?  No, Chase.  And, it was only TV that was in black and white.  And, that was before I was born.  What people see in real life with their eyes has always been in color.
Chase:  Even back in the olden times when you were born?  Back when there were battles and gun fights?  People saw color???
I think watching too many episodes of the Andy Griffith Show and I Love Lucy in this house has really corrupted this kid!  And, maybe we need to explain the difference between TV and reality again...that is, after I'm done laughing about this conversation.
