I don't know about you, but I am blown away that 3rd quarter has ended and school is going to be winding down soon! How did that happen?!?!?
The boys both brought home fantastic grade cards for 3rd quarter!!!! We are so proud of how hard they have worked the last few months!
Cole - 3rd grade:
For the first time in a long time, Cole got ALL "A's" on his report card!!!! WOO HOO!!! Having him on an IEP this year, and allowing for accommodations in the classroom, particularly a scribe, has been a lifesaver for him. He has always been very smart, and usually has the answers to all the problems/questions put in front of him, but being able to get those answers out of his brain and onto paper causes major issues for him.
His teacher, and Special Ed teachers, both recognize this and while they ask Cole to at least attempt to write on his own, they have no problem scribing for him when he is struggling. This allows Cole to complete his work and his grade card seems to be a more accurate reflection of the grades we always knew he was capable of getting, but just couldn't because he refused to write!
(The blue was circled by his teacher for Cole to help weed out the other data on the sheet and focus him on the important grades.)
He still has some work to do on the "Completes Work On Time" and "Listens Attentively" items, but that's OK. Baby steps.
Chase -- Kindergarten:
Chase is doing fantastic in school these days! He loves going, loves his teacher, and just loves to learn! He is one smart cookie! And, while he still needs to work on learning to tie his shoes, learning his address, and improve his writing skills, he has done great in being neat and tidy (who would have EVER guess that?!?!), being organized, and listening in class!
Way to go, boys!!! They are great report cards!!! :)
