On Easter morning, Chase was the first one up. The boys had been given strict instructions to get Mommy and Daddy before heading downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny had been here. So, after following his instructions, and waking up Cole too, the boys anxiously headed down the stairs. Lo and behold, he HAD been here...as there were 2 eggs right in plain view!
Not only had the Easter Bunny hidden eggs (which the boys found pretty quickly!), he also left Easter baskets! Oh, they were thrilled to see piles of candy, plus a new ball and a Zhu Zhu Pet for each of them!!! But, I think at 7:30am, the candy was the clear winner! And, they ate WAAAAYYYY too much. Even just sampling a little here and there meant that they were too full for a real breakfast. "No, thanks, Mom. This Reese's peanut butter cup filled me up." Ugh... And, after the initial excitement wore off, and the sugar kicked in....oh boy. Let's not even re-cap the events. It sendes chills up my spine to even think about the way they acted. Next year, I hope the Easter Bunny brings a nice bowl of oatmeal instead. :)
Anyway...the boys also received Easter cards with money inside from Nonnie, Baby Grandad, and Grandma Nee Nee. And, MomMom, Big Grandad, Nana, and PaPa all came down with more baskets of candy! (Did I mention they were on a sugar high ALL day?)
Easter was fun and the boys thoroughly enjoyed the free-for-all they had with the candy. And, after they went to bed, Mom spent the evening hiding the evidence! :)
