The boys' first game of miniature golf!

Today was just...one of those days! You know, when you wake up with a plan of how you think the day will play out. And, then suddenly your entire plan is tossed out the window? Yeah...It all started when we dropped the boys off with Nana and Papa this morning.

Daddy had scheduled an class out at the Kansas Speedway for a NASCAR driving school and then actually compete in a 10-lap race against the other members of his class. So, we drop off the kids and drive ALL the way out to the Speedway (a good hour from home...at least!) only to find out from the track security that the racing school was not even at the track that day!!! And, apparently we weren't the only ones who had been duped that day as others were being turned away at the gate. (But...that's a whole other story in itself...)

Anyway, since we had driven that far, we decided to check out The Legends and walk around a little bit. Seeing as we have absolultely no life these days, we had never been out there! (I know...we're social losers!) Anyway, after spending 30 minutes walking around, we decided it would be more fun to go pick up the boys and take them miniature golfing!

A few months earlier, Cole borrowed Aunt Mary's Mario Golf Wii game and has been a mini golf fool ever since! (Sorry, Mary. If you want it back, you may have to pry it from his cold, dead hands...) And, he has asked a few times if we could "golf for real" so we figured this was as good a time as any! So, we picked the boys up and headed out to Paradise Park.

The boys LOVED miniature golfing! It took a few holes to get the hang of it, but once he figured it out, there was no stopping Cole!

Chase, on the other hand, had more fun running the ball up to the hold and dropping it in. He was much more interested in picking up sticks and rocks to throw in the ponds and water features! But, whatever makes him happy! :)
