Road trip to the Omaha Zoo!

This weekend, we planned a trip to Omaha!  We've always heard such good things about the zoo and so we decided to take advantage of a beautiful fall weekend and go!  The weather was perfect...about 72 degrees and sunny! 

The boys don't do well in the car, so the 3+ hour drive was very trying on all of us.  3 hours of whining and complaining from a certain 6-year-old who just wasn't content...no matter how many movies we brought along to watch, video games to play, or snacks to eat. 

Eventually, we made it to Omaha, found our hotel, and checked in for the night.  Early Saturday morning, we headed to the zoo!

After leaving the zoo that afternoon, we stumbled into downtown Omaha and found the Old Market area. Really cool place with lots of trendy shops, antique shops and hip restaurants.  Though the boys were already tired and worn out, they somehow managed another hour of walking around Old Market.  And, Chase just loved this buttered toast he found for sale!  Ha Ha!
