Physical Therapy

Chase had his physical therapy appointment today, and Cole went with us! He is normally in school during Chase's appointments, but since this appointment was on a Friday, Cole tagged along. With a promise of a stop at Sonic for lunch if he behaved, he was very good! He entertained himself by rolling around on a yoga ball, stacking huge blocks, and then also knocking the blocks down with the ball! Sheesh! But, I couldn't really blame him for wanting to play. The place is like a 3-year-old's paradise with every kind of block, ball, rope, and hoop imaginable. And, he was very polite and asked Ms. Amy if it was OK if he played with the toys. So, all in all, it went very well.

Chase has good head rotation now, but is still a little shy of turning his head completely to his shoulder. And, the muscle is still a little tight and needs more stretching work. So, we'll continue with the physical therapy for a couple more months at least. But, he is making great strides and Amy is happy with his progress!

Afterward, on the way to Sonic, I looked back to see Cole playing with his teddy bear -- twisting his head left and right, up and down:

Mom: Cole, what are you doing to Teddy?
Cole: Physical therapy.
Mom: [laughing]
Cole: Why does Chase have to have his head turned?
Mom: Because his head and neck don't work good like yours. You can turn your head any way you want to. But, Chase's is broken.
Cole: Maybe the screws fell out.
